Presiding Commissioner, Betty Knight,
Seeks Re-election

Betty Knight, Platte County Presiding Commissioner, announced her plan to seek re-election at the Platte County Republican Association meeting, August 5th.  Knight was the speaker at the monthly "First Friday" event, where she gave a comprehensive review of the Platte County parks program.  She ended her presentation to the group of about 75 people with the announcement she would file for reelection in 2006.
Betty Knight said, "I am seeking re-election to continue the progress that has been made in Platte County on parks, land use, growth and roads. With the support of all Republicans I will campaign vigorously for the office of Presiding Commissioner."

GRAVES ENDORSES KNIGHT FOR PRESIDING COMMISSIONER

Liberty, MO:  U.S. Congressman Sam Graves endorsed Platte County Presiding Commissioner Betty Knight today in her bid for re-election next year.  Graves has enjoyed a close working relationship with Knight.  "Platte County needs Betty Knight’s leadership as they continue to experience unparalleled growth," said Graves. "Over the past 5 years we have developed a great relationship and I want that to continue."

Knight was first elected in 1995.  She has been instrumental in recommending projects and problems in the County that need federal assistance.  Graves and Knight have worked together on numerous County, State and Federal projects.

"She has been a friend and a partner in moving Platte County forward," said Graves. "She has my complete support and I look forward to campaigning at her side in 2006."
