Our April "First Thursday" gathering, 04/06, has Captain Gary Hacker presenting," Training the New Iraqi Centurion ".

Captain Hacker has first hand experience of actual interaction with Iraqi’s from his assignment
at the Baghdad Police College.

     The social gathering begins at 5:30 PM at the Touché in Parkville Commons, Parkville, MO.  ( Find Directions).   A  $10 cover charge, which includes registration, visiting, and food with drinks.

Gary L. Hacker gave a power point

presentation concerning training Iraqi police cadets. he was in Baghdad at the police academy, where he lead a core of American trainers. They instructed thousands of recruits. He spoke in detail how these efforts were yielding success.
Mr. Hacker is a member of the Midwest Law Enforcement Trainers Association.

Date change to Wednesday April 19, 2006

  This change because the General Assembly has declared Easter Monday, the 17th, a Holiday.  Session will not resume until 2PM on the 18th.  The House Leadership are meeting at Noon, and our meeting would have no Representatives and probably no Senators.
     State President, Bob Paulson, after hearing this news on Monday, April 3rd made the decision to change the date of our event as the only logical choice.


The Missouri Supreme Court voted to uphold the 24 hour waiting period for abortions. Those arguing that the state law was vague, taking away personal liberties failed to convince the court. The final vote by the justices for  upholding the law was unanimous.
 The law requires physicals & practitioners to wait 24 hours, after the initial consultation. Within this professional conference, no additional obligation concerning "disclosures" were placed on physicians.

State Representative Jason Brown has been called to active duty.  He will serve a one-year tour of duty in Iraq. Jason, a Representative from the 30th District, is a staff sergeant in the Army Resreves. He has announced his candidacy for reelection. His office in Jefferson City will remain open for residents to phone or express needs.
