Platte County Pachyderm Club FAQ’s
& What makes them really work.

Pachyderm Clubs offer programs centered around politics and government.  A Pachyderm Club is a National Republican Party affiliated organization. Local Clubs stress education and "enlightenment" on issues and good candidates. The Club avoids a forced choice of positions and endorsements

Pachyderm Clubs offer programs centered around politics and government.

Pachyderm Clubs can be the continuity for the Republican Party from election to election in that unlike the party structure, Pachyderm Clubs remain active all year. 

Pachyderm Clubs do not endorse issues nor candidates in contested primary elections. This prohibition provides a neutral forum for the discussion of divisive issues within the Republican Party.

In many communities, the Pachyderm Club has become a healing influence within the party and a subtle reminder that Republicans agree on a much larger number of issues than we disagree on. 

The Pachyderm Club movement is one of the most practical means by which broad citizen participation in politics may be achieved. 

Through Pachyderms we have the opportunity to continue to help elect leaders with a common sense approach and conservative philosophy.

How does one join?

The club is open to residents, not a closed organization. Anyone is able to complete the application and mail the simple application with annual dues to our secure P.O. Box.  Note: we are fiscally responsible, having books audited annually and expenditures approved by our board.

Over 60 Pachyderm Clubs are located in 16 states around the U.S. and are growing every day. We are actively looking for individuals to help start additional clubs in new areas. The Platte County Pachyderm Club meets each First Thursday in the month in Parkville. Our meetings begin at 5:30 PM at The Touche club in Parkville Commons shopping Center, 6264 Lewis St., Parkville, MO. The formal meeting ends at 7 PM, but friends and members linger to socialize.

Where did Pachyderm Clubs begin?.
The first club was formed in Columbia (Boone County), Missouri in 1967.

An active Pachyderm Club creates:

• New VIGOR in the political life of a community. It becomes an open forum for issues, candidates seeking office and social involvement.
• PUBLICITY and a platform about issues in open meetings.
• ATTRACTING citizen interest through genuine exchange of ideas, positive candidates and the quest for good government.
• A FORCE for encouraging good people to seek public service.
• INCLUSION of all residents.
• SOCIAL environment where professionals and workers can "conversate".

Where does the Platte County Club meet?
Our group and guests gather each First Thursday of the month at O'Dowds in Zona Rosa. We begin at 5:30 with informal conversation. There is a $10 cover charge for the facility use; this includes  finger foods and a well drink. Our speaker of topic begins around 6 P.M. After a brief  presentation, there is a Q & A time.

What about monthly Republican events in Platte County? Our Club maintains an inclusive perspective. We include those political happens, whenever a campaign manager or a club president provides calendar information.
