Platte County Republican Scholarship for Seniors

scholarship is open to graduating
high school seniors
from Platte County High Schools in 2008.2008 Citizenship Scholarship Application
This bulletin announces
the 2008 Platte County Citizenship Scholarship sponsored by the
Platte County Republican organizations. The Platte County
Republicans will award a $1,000 competitive scholarship to the most
deserving high school senior in the county judged on the grounds of
character, service and scholarship. Accordingly, while GPA, academic
and athletic awards will be considered, the scholarship committee
will be looking especially for evidence of involvement and interest
in the local political process and volunteerism and service to the
community.
Eligibility:
Scholarship applicants must
- Reside in Platte County, Missouri and be a high school
senior.
- Have a 3.0 GPA
- Complete an application package with the applicant checklist
completely filled out and included.
- Complete minimum 10 hours of community service exemplifying
Republican values.
- Proceed applying by copying and completing
the 4 necessary sections.
Part I. Application Checklist
For scholarship consideration, follow these sequential steps,
then submit an application package by 1 March, 2008
- Complete and sign the Application Form
- Write a personal statement on youth in politics (two pages
maximum).
- Submit a current academic transcript.
- Submit two completed Recommendation Forms.
- Complete the community service verification form.
- Include a photograph for publication in local newspapers if
awarded this scholarship. (Not to be sent on to Selection
