President Ronald Reagan, "Government
is the people's business
and every man, woman and child becomes a shareholder
with
the first penny of tax paid."
Become a Proactive Pachyderm
Voter.
Chose a Club committee for a greater impact.
So many American voters
opine “ my vote won’t make a difference”. They might believe the
voting system is tainted. Republican Pachyderms members know better,
because we chose active participation. Pachyderms
regularly attend meetings where important issues are presented.
Committee work ads to our county election process. Plus, each Club member has the unique opportunity for
inter-active dialog with candidates. “We” become politically
“savvy”.
Each Pachyderm member understands the power and influence we
attain. Being a proactive voter enlists legal means for
influencing others to support personal choices. Each of us achieves
a cumulative effect on people around us. Here are reasonable and
positive methods to intervene for Republican candidates’
campaigns:
Make a monetary campaign contribution to candidates you support.
Select a committee that you want, then get physically involved
with electioneering labor! A). Volunteer for a phone bank; B). Assist at Republican Headquarters; C). Work in a specific campaign doing details
the candidate and staffers can’t do; D). Hand out literature at a polling place; E). Host a fundraiser, have a coffee for a candidate
with friends and neighbors attending; F). Personally introduce candidates to people you know.
Support each candidate with your good voice. President Ronald Reagan’s
Republican Commandment was: " Thou shall NOT speak ill of a fellow
Republican ”.
Write personal letters of support for your candidates. Your
handwritten letter to friends and acquaintances has an impact. Write a brief letter
noting your endorsement a few days
prior to Election Day.
Place Republican Candidate political posters/yard signs in your
lawn or front window. Visible "Candidate Posters/Yard Signs" have an influence
on neighbors, even if you live on a small cul-de-sac.
Post a bumper sticker on your car. If you don’t like it stuck on your
outside bumper, then tape one inside on your rear window.
Become a Poll Watcher. Our party can use lots of folks to observe and
count the voters as they cast ballots.
Special Note: The State of
Missouri no longer issues Voter Identification cards any longer,
thus the sentence in the Call to Caucus that states "Bring your
voter identification card and picture ID to expedite
registration." is erroneous. When the new law requiring picture
id to vote was struck down in courts it also removed the old
voter id card that use to be issued, so now only a notice of
polling place is mailed to the voter. The law of unintended
consequences.

Further involvement that lets
your voice be heard:
A. Research Issues that trip your trigger.
News
casts are selective with
their information. I.e. Tim Russet; Bill O'Reiley. Search
on the web
for various news articles, candidate sites, blogs from private
citizens, etc.
B. You can do your thing, too.
Create a
small video clip from your
perspective; video cam, send e-mails, text messages, even post
on
U-Tube, etc.
C. Make small contributions to various Republican candidates.
Find our
Platte County Candidates on the
Candidate Forum Page.
Money does matter; make yours count.
D. Directly ask the candidate!
Simply
e-mail your question, concern or
opinion to the candidate. Generally, each one has an e-mail & a
campaign manager to receive your response.
Politics is an emotional event. People on the left and
the right are intense about specific candidates! Arguing,
telling and yelling in political debates is as ineffective as it
does during a pro-wrestling match. There is a psychological rule
about intense encounters: “The MORE YOU insist, the more the
other person WILL RESIST”. Fortunately, pachyderms are civil
creatures.
